404 error with basic project

Mar 13, 2012 at 3:48 PM

I'm having some problems getting a simple project working.

1) scaffolder run -out="c:\temp\AzurePHP"

2) notepad c:\temp\AzurePHP\PhpOnAzure.web\index.php -> <?php phpinfo(); ?>

3) package create -in="c:\temp\AzurePHP" -out="c:\temp\AzurePHP\build" -dev=true

Everything seems to go ok, but I get a 404 - File or directory not found.

I repeated all my steps for installation and configuration on my home computer, which is also running Windows 7, and it works perfect. What do I need to do to troubleshoot this? I suspect php is not getting set up right on the server, but I have no idea how to tell. :)

Have you made sure that the developer environment is completely setup?

Open your IIS Manager and make sure that PHP is showing and that there is only one in the list.

What URL are you using in the browser? Make sure you have the correct port number

Check the output of the build folder and make sure that the index.php file was added upon build

Try those steps and check back

I had used the web platform installer on both computers, but for some reason my work computer didn't have the path to php configured at all in IIS manager.

Works perfect now.
